DHH Teacher | Fremont, California

Step into an impactful role supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a dynamic educational environment. The assignment runs from August 13th through June 11th, with a 37.5-hour onsite workweek, providing consistency and meaningful engagement with your students and colleagues.

Qualifications:

• California Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing OR a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing instruction for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Prior experience working with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is strongly preferred
• Sound knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to foster relationships with students, families, and school staff

As part of your responsibilities, you will:

• Deliver specialized academic instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a classroom setting
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student strengths and needs
• Employ a variety of instructional strategies, including visual language, assistive technology, and differentiated teaching methods
• Serve as an advocate and mentor, promoting student success and full participation in all aspects of school life
• Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other staff to support inclusive education
• Engage regularly in ongoing professional development focused on best practices in Deaf education
