Special Education Teacher | Plainfield, New Jersey

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification required.
• Significant credits in Math OR Teacher of the Handicapped endorsement with sufficient Math credits.
• Experience working with students requiring specialized instruction.
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Commitment to fostering an equitable and supportive learning environment.

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized math instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to accommodate varying ability levels and learning styles.
• Track student progress and report outcomes to parents and educational teams.
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom that encourages student engagement and growth.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives.

This is a full-time onsite assignment running from September 1, 2026, through June 24, 2027, for 35 hours per week. You’ll be part of a dedicated team focused on meaningful student outcomes.
