You’ll work as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in an onsite, part-time, itinerant position, collaborating with dedicated teams across elementary and middle school settings.

Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with TVI endorsement required
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to adapt and develop instructional materials in accessible formats
  • Commitment to inclusive practices and student-centered strategies

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional support and consultation services for students with visual impairments
  • Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to ensure accessibility
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Travel between schools in the district to deliver services to a varied caseload
