Take on a key leadership position supporting young learners as a School Psychologist in the vibrant communities surrounding Skokie and Des Plaines, IL. This contract opportunity is for the 2026-2027 school year, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week (7:45 A.M. – 2:55 P.M.). You’ll work with an elementary caseload (K–2), making a real difference by guiding special education processes and collaborating with dedicated teams.
Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist license (Illinois required)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP processes, and 504 plans
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
- Comfortable facilitating meetings and leading collaborative discussions
- Ability to participate in cognitive and psychoeducational assessments as needed
Responsibilities:
- Lead eligibility meetings to assess students' needs and ensure compliance
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with educators and families
- Facilitate MTSS and problem-solving meetings with multidisciplinary teams
- Coordinate and facilitate 504 plan meetings for qualifying students
- Oversee a caseload of approximately 75 students with IEPs, ensuring diligent documentation and record keeping
- Provide guidance to the special education team and serve as a resource for best practices
- Minimal direct service minutes with students; the primary focus is leadership and coordination
- Participate in evaluation components, such as cognitive testing, when required
