Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity serving students across three dynamic school environments as a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). This itinerant position offers a diverse caseload, working with children who require your expertise at the high school, middle school, and intermediate school levels. You'll play a crucial role in helping students thrive academically and personally, traveling between sites and collaborating closely with general and special education teams.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Active Alabama Professional Educator SLP Certificate (can be verified via the Alabama Teacher Certification portal)
- Experience delivering speech-language services in school settings preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively serve a caseload of approximately 60 students
- Ability and willingness to travel between school sites as needed
- Excellent interpersonal communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality speech and language therapy services for K-12-aged students across three schools
- Conduct assessments, create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), and maintain thorough documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, staff, and families to support student success and compliance
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility determinations, and team consultations
- Stay current with best practices and continuing education in the field
