Registered Nurse School Setting in Plainfield, IL

Two contract opportunities are available for Certified School Nurses (CSNs) or CSN students adept at providing comprehensive student healthcare and support. These positions are full-time (37.5 hours per week) for the upcoming school year, with roles based in local elementary and high schools. Hours for the high school are 7:15 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.; for the elementary school, 8:25 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

In these roles, you’ll lead the health office, conduct medical reviews, and be an integral participant in IEP and 504 processes—all as essential components of the CSN role. Flexibility and a collaborative spirit are crucial, as you’ll partner closely with school staff and families to promote student health and success.

To excel in this role, candidates should bring the following:

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a PEL endorsement for Certified School Nurse (more than an RN license; CSN coursework required)
• Experience as a Certified School Nurse highly preferred
• Ability to manage the health office, medical reviews, and IEP/504 participation
• Strong attendance and reliability (essential for consistent student support)
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a significant plus
• Flexible, dependable, and collaborative team player mindset
