Embark on a fulfilling contract role supporting students as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) within a dynamic school environment near Santa Maria, CA. You'll enjoy the variety and impact of joining an LVN pool, collaborating with other dedicated professionals, and empowering students to thrive throughout the school year.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Active California LVN license required
  • Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric populations highly desirable
  • Proficiency in supporting counseling initiatives, crisis intervention, and basic student health care needs
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing caseloads, including potential 1:1 assignments
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families
  • Comfortable working onsite full-time during the regular academic year

Main Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively in the LVN pool, rotating assignments as needed across the district
  • Deliver attentive care to students with various health needs, including medication administration and treatment
  • Provide classroom and campus support, responding to emergencies according to established protocols
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of health services
  • Assist counselors and other staff in supporting students’ well-being and academic success
  • Participate in team meetings and staff training as scheduled
  • Option to sign up for extended school year (ESY) hours, although participation is not required
