Job Description
Take your nursing expertise into a meaningful educational setting in the Denver area! A contract position is available for a skilled RN to support young learners, ages 3-5, at a center dedicated to early childhood development. You'll be a crucial member of a multidisciplinary team, providing essential health care services and advocacy in a vibrant, supportive school environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or at least three years of practical nursing experience
- Eligibility for (or possession of) a Colorado special services provider license with the correct endorsement
- At least three years of current clinical experience
- Up-to-date CPR certification
- Experience collaborating with educators and specialists strongly preferred
Core Responsibilities:
- Work directly onsite providing nursing support to approximately 120 students, nearly half of whom have significant needs and IEPs
- Develop, implement, and manage individualized health plans, promoting student safety and wellness
- Deliver training and delegation for staff on student health needs and protocols
- Respond to health calls, administer screenings (vision, hearing, dental), and maintain detailed, compliant records
- Actively participate in the IEP process, collaborating closely with special education and allied health professionals
- Utilize a private office as your base for coordinating services and care delivery
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday role with a consistent 37.5-hour workweek, allowing you to form strong bonds with students and colleagues alike. The assignment runs from late July through May, following the school’s schedule.
