In this contract opportunity, you’ll play a pivotal part in supporting and empowering students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This role is centered on fostering an inclusive, engaging environment and helping students achieve their academic potential. You’ll work with a diverse group of students, utilizing your specialized skills to tailor instruction and encourage growth throughout the academic year, from August 3 to May 21. While the majority of the work is onsite, virtual candidates may also be considered.

Qualifications and Credentials:

  • Current Standard Professional Certificate (completed)
  • Deaf/Hard of Hearing (K-12) Endorsement finalized
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Card
  • Proven experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities
  • Passion for advocacy and making educational content accessible

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective, differentiated instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students in alignment with individual education plans
  • Employ a range of communication strategies, including sign language and assistive technologies, to foster comprehension and participation
  • Collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and families to develop and implement individualized strategies
  • Adapt curriculum materials to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Monitor progress, maintain documentation, and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings
  • Stay current on best practices, advancements, and compliance standards within the discipline
