Make a meaningful impact working as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with significant behavioral needs in a collaborative educational environment. This contract position offers the chance to work closely with a small group of four students requiring specialized behavioral intervention, providing both challenge and fulfillment as you help shape student progress.

As a key member of the special education team, you will implement effective instructional strategies, address behavioral issues with sensitivity, and maintain a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere. Experience working with severe behavior cases and familiarity with CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) strategies are especially valued in this role.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • CPI training or willingness to complete training preferred
  • Proven experience supporting students with severe behavioral challenges
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs)
  • Excellent communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to student growth

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and tailored behavioral interventions to a small group of students
  • Collaborate with staff to design effective interventions and track student progress
  • Implement and monitor IEPs and BIPs, making adjustments as necessary
  • Foster a structured, respectful, and safe classroom environment
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with families and team members
