What we’re looking for:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher or Teacher of the Handicapped, with completed Math coursework/credits
- Experience teaching mathematics to students with diverse learning needs
- Ability to develop individualized instructional materials and differentiated lesson plans
- Strong skills in collaboration and communication with colleagues, students, and families
- Dedication to promoting an inclusive learning space and advancing academic achievement
What you’ll do:
- Design and deliver engaging Math instruction for students receiving special education services
- Assess student abilities, monitor progress, and adjust strategies to meet individualized education plan (IEP) goals
- Implement classroom activities that nurture math understanding and build student confidence
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff to support student development
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation
