Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, with valid state certification
- Experience working with elementary or middle school students in special education preferred
- Comfort providing toileting assistance and supporting students with adaptive needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and behavioral management abilities
- Dedication to inclusive, student-centered teaching
Responsibilities:
- Teach and support an elementary classroom with a caseload of 6 students (mild behavioral needs, toileting assistance required, no feeding needs), supported by a Teaching Assistant and Behavior Technician
- Teach in a middle school classroom with 11 students (including one with a feeding tube, toileting support needed for some), with strong classroom support: one teacher, three full-time teaching assistants, and one 1:1 aide
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curricular materials as needed
- Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and school staff
