Job Description
Step into a pivotal role supporting students with diverse needs for the 2026-2027 school year. We’re seeking passionate Special Education Teachers to join several specialized classroom environments in Lehigh County and neighboring areas. Assignments are spread across multiple programs, including autism support, multiple disabilities support, and emotional support. Each classroom requires dedicated professionals who thrive on meaningful, student-centered teaching and collaboration.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required/preferred as per assignment)
- Direct classroom experience in special education
- Experience in any of the following settings is strongly valued:
- Autism Spectrum programming (ABA-informed, AAC/visual supports, BIPs)
- Multiple Disabilities Support (adapted curriculum, personal care, life skills)
- Emotional Support (behavior management, de-escalation, trauma-informed care)
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs and managing compliance
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction and support in accordance with IEPs
- Implement evidence-based and individualized classroom management techniques
- Foster a safe, supportive learning environment for students with complex needs
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams within each program
- Engage families, staff, and students in the educational process
- Maintain documentation, progress monitoring, and communication
Assignment Details:
- School-day hours (approx. 7:00 AM–3:30 PM) per assigned site
- Assignments run August 10, 2026 – June 11, 2027 (with possible adjustments for school calendar)
- Candidates must live within a 35-minute commute of their assigned location
