Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Current SLP State License and Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children, especially at the elementary level, preferred
  • Strong diagnostic, report writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other support professionals
  • Must be available to work onsite throughout the academic year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy in individual and group settings
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and student records
  • Communicate progress with families and provide strategies for continued development at home
  • Provide training and guidance to educational staff to support students’ needs
