Special Education Teacher | Phoenixville, Pennsylvania

Make a positive impact supporting preschool-aged children with special education needs in a dynamic contract position. This role involves working as an itinerant Special Education Teacher, serving approximately 30 students across various community preschools. Your expertise will guide young learners through individualized support and instruction, helping them thrive during these foundational years.

You’ll have a consistent weekday schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 35 hours per week. The position covers a variety of preschools in the region, providing both variety and the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of educators and students. Comprehensive training and ongoing guidance will be provided at onboarding to ensure you feel confident and prepared in your new role.

Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania certification in PK-4 and/or Special Education (emergency permits are not accepted)
• Previous experience working with preschool or early elementary-aged children with special needs is strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently, managing an itinerant caseload and adapting to different educational environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with preschool staff and families
• Passion for making a difference in early childhood education

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with special education needs in community preschools
• Collaborate with preschool teachers and administrators for successful student integration and support
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation according to state and program guidelines
• Travel within the assigned area to meet the needs of the itinerant caseload
