Physical Therapist - School Setting in Winter Garden, FL
Job Description
Make an impact in education with a full-time, on-site opportunity supporting K-12 students in a dynamic, collaborative environment for the upcoming school year. This contract role offers the chance to work with a large, diverse student population, delivering direct and indirect physical therapy services across multiple campuses. You'll join a supportive team, working alongside another PT and a PTA to manage a balanced caseload, while building meaningful relationships with both students and staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Florida Physical Therapist license required
- Previous school-based experience highly preferred, though not required
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to flexibly travel between campuses and handle an itinerant schedule
- Experience with K-12, including Pre-K, is a plus
- Comfortable providing both individual and group therapy, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services to a caseload of approximately 94 students (divided with fellow PT/PTA)
- Serve 2–3 schools daily within a cohort of 35 assigned campuses
- Perform evaluations, develop and document intervention plans, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Support student functional mobility, motor skills, and participation in school routines
- Communicate progress with teachers, administrators, and families
- Maintain accurate records and submit required documentation weekly
- Navigate a district-led, two-part credentialing and onboarding process in preparation for the start of the school year
This full-time position follows a school schedule (Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:00 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
