This contract paraprofessional opportunity is based in Orefield, PA, at a specialized learning achievement program. Candidates should reside within about 35 minutes of the site, ensuring reliability for daily, in-person work.

Responsibilities:

• Assist students in a Level B Multiple Disabilities Support (MDS) classroom under teacher guidance
• Provide academic, behavioral, and daily living support—including toileting, feeding, hygiene, and mobility assistance
• Implement strategies to address sensory needs and challenging behaviors (hitting, biting, screaming, elopement, etc.) while maintaining a calm, supportive presence
• Support communication and participate actively in transitions and classroom routines
• Uphold classroom safety procedures and contribute positively to the learning environment

Desired Qualifications:

• At least 1 year as a paraprofessional, instructional assistant, or similar role in special education preferred
• Meets one of Pennsylvania’s paraprofessional requirements: 48 college credits, associate degree or higher, or successful completion of a relevant assessment (or willingness to certify within 60 days)
• Availability for a consistent, full school-day schedule (approx. 7:00 AM–3:30 PM)
• Calm under pressure, dependable, and dedicated to student well-being
• Ability to provide personal care, support behavior interventions, and move quickly as needed
• Reliable transportation and a strong attendance record
