Responsibilities

Perform quality blood draws from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures

Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring patient safety and specimen integrity

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm specimen labels

Maintain detailed records and documentation of procedures and patient information

Create a patient-friendly environment by explaining procedures and demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality

Handle multiple priorities efficiently in high-volume settings

Ensure safety and sanitation protocols are consistently followed to maintain a secure environment

Travel to various locations as needed, supporting both in-office and patient service center settings

Required Skills

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric specimen collection

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members

Attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling and documentation

Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington

Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collection

Experience in a patient service center environment is preferred

Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed

Must list home city and commute time on resume; commute should be within 20-25 minutes

Ability to work scheduled hours reliably and punctually, with a strong focus on attendance
