The Job\n

San Bernardino County is recruiting for Graphic Designer I to create and produce a high volume of diverse, visually engaging print materials, using raw data compiled from various sources including original drawings and creative illustration.

Current vacancy exists with the County Administrative Office (CAO).

Note: The resulting eligible list may also be used to fill other vacancies as they occur throughout the County.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
\n 1) Pre-Employment: Prior to appointment, applicants must undergo a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting and a medical exam.
2) Travel: Travel throughout the County maybe required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.3) Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Minimum Requirements\n

Education: An Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in Art or Commercial Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design, -OR- 60 semester (90 quarter) units of completed coursework which must include 27 semester or 40 quarter units in Art/Commercial Art or Graphic Design.

\n

A list of completed college coursework or legible transcripts must be submitted with the application.

Experience: Two (2) years of paid full-time equivalent professional experience in Graphic Design using the following computer programs:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud applications which include Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign.
  • \n
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • \n
  • Web programs (WordPress)
  • \n
\n

This experience must be clearly detailed in the Work Experience section of the Application.

Qualifying degrees must be completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. In addition, degrees completed outside of the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at the college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Desired Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, knowledge of PC and Mac platforms, and experience in web design, video production, and multimedia. An established portfolio is highly desirable. Additionally, demonstrated knowledge in the following areas: Layout and Pagination processes and/or Software and knowledge of ADA Title II requirements for digital collateral.
