Job Description
Make a difference in the classroom setting while supporting students across a range of educational needs. Multiple opportunities are available for paraprofessionals to work with students from kindergarten through high school, in life skills, autism support, and behavior intervention environments. This contract role is located near Olathe, KS, and is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting learners and thrive in dynamic special education environments.
As part of the application process, selected candidates will participate in interviews to discuss their experiences in special education and share their preferences regarding caseload assignments. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Prior experience in a classroom or school-based setting, ideally supporting K-12 students
- Familiarity with special education environments, including life skills, autism, or behavior-focused classrooms
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, educators, and team members
- Adaptable and patient, with a genuine commitment to student growth
- Reliable and organized, able to manage diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on academic, behavioral, and emotional support to students
- Assist lead teachers and special education staff with instructional activities
- Implement individualized plans and behavior strategies
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
- Support data collection and documentation as requested by teaching or administrative staff
