About the Role

Randstad Staffing is partnering with a leading medical device manufacturer in Brooklyn Park, MN, to hire a skilled CNC Swiss Machinist II. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating Citizen Swiss machinery to produce high-precision medical components. You will play a critical role in ensuring all parts meet strict quality standards and adhere to company quality manuals.

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 2nd Shift

  • Schedule: Monday – Thursday (Enjoy a 3-day weekend!)

  • Hours: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complete setups and operations on Citizen CNC Swiss machines.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and detailed work instructions.

  • Conduct precise quality inspections visually (using a microscope) and dimensionally using standard measuring tools.

  • Monitor product quality continuously to ensure adherence to Quality System requirements and specifications.

  • Effectively balance competing priorities on the floor with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications & RequirementsExperience & Skills:

  • 2+ years of CNC Swiss machining experience (experience in medical device or precision component manufacturing preferred).

  • Proven ability to set up and operate Citizen Swiss machines.

  • strong proficiency in shop math, reading blueprints, and geometric dimensioning.

  • Proficiency using standard computers, calculators, and precision inspection equipment.

  • strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Education & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Vocational Certificate in Machine Trades or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Must have valid identification and legal authorization to work in the United States.ZPMLSTCM

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Coding

  • Extensive understanding of G and M code for a citizen machine. Some macro program knowledge. Operational knowledge of many types of machines and controls.

Process Knowledge

  • Set up Swiss Machines on most intermediate complexity level production jobs unaided as required by work instructions and set up sheets.

Ability to Train Others

  • Willing and able to train others on basic and intermediate complexity level production jobs.

Communication

  • Good communication with their peers of the immediate work cell/line.
  • Able to effectively communicate across the department, including the extended team.

Problem Solving

  • Troubleshoot intermediate machining job problems with supervision.

Electronic Systems Knowledge

  • Has a basic understanding of the electronic systems used in operations. Accesses the systems for training and clocking in/out of jobs.

Cross-Training

  • Train and run other types of equipment as the business need arises.

Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean initiatives.
