Job Description
Description:
Coordinate and manage the shipment of materials from to other sites and collaborators, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.
Prepare and review shipping documents, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs documentation, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper coordination and execution of shipments.
Communicate with internal and external partners, including freight forwarders and carriers, to schedule and track shipments, ensuring on-time delivery.
Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including tracking numbers, delivery confirmations, and any relevant documentation.
Monitor and manage inventory levels of shipping supplies, such as boxes, labels, and packing materials, ensuring adequate stock is maintained.
Identify and resolve any issues or delays in the shipping process, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to find timely solutions.
Stay up-to-date with relevant shipping regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
Assist in the development and implementation of shipping-related policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols.
Provide regular reports and updates to management on shipping activities, including metrics, performance, and any potential risks or opportunities.
Continuous walking/packaging shipments for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day)
Qualifications:
BS and 2-4+years of experience in biologics sample processing or shipping in a related field
Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, including domestic and international requirements, customs procedures, and hazardous materials handling.
Proficient in using shipping software and systems, such as FedEx, UPS, or DHL, to schedule and track shipments.
Attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring all shipping documents and records are complete and error-free.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
Proven experience as a Shipping Coordinator or similar role, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
Able to lift 50 pounds
