LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing real estate investment and property management organization to recruit a Senior Property Accountant for its Dallas office. This is a hybrid opportunity offering a competitive salary of $90,000-$100,000, bonus potential, comprehensive benefits, and the ability to work remotely one day each week.
In this role, you will support a portfolio of properties while collaborating with multiple departments to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance, and month-end close activities. In this role, you will support a portfolio of properties while collaborating with multiple departments to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance, and month-end close activities. Responsibilities:
- Complete and review month-end close activities, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring all reporting deadlines are achieved.
- Analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, to verify accuracy and identify unusual trends or variances.
- Review the work prepared by Property Accountants, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
- Perform financial analyses, recurring reporting, and ad hoc requests to support operational decision-making and business initiatives.
- Collaborate with Accounting Managers to balance workloads, improve efficiencies, and support cross-training within the accounting team.
- Partner with departments including Operations, Leasing, HOA, and other internal stakeholders to understand business activity and its impact on financial results.
- Communicate with field personnel and external partners to explain financial results, answer questions, and provide accounting support.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests, including SOX compliance, internal controls, and other regulatory requirements.
- Coach and mentor junior accounting staff while encouraging continued professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Manage and review high-volume accounting transactions while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and property accounting.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Yardi is preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
