Make an impact in the lives of K-12 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with OMS certification for a full-time, school-year contract role. This position is based near The Villages, FL, serving as a vital resource across multiple campuses, with the district main office provided as your work homebase. You'll travel between up to 13 schools (serving 2-3 per day, schedule customized for your commute and preferences), offering both direct and consultative support to a caseload of 15-20 students with visual impairments.

District leaders are actively interviewing as of 7/21 and welcome qualified travel professionals, especially given the area's recruitment needs. Contract dates run from 8/3/2026 to 5/28/2027, with a schedule of 35 hours per week (8:00am – 3:30pm, 7.5-hour days with a 30-minute unpaid lunch).

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Professional TVI License
  • OMS Certification required
  • Testing and student screening experience
  • Strong evaluative and consultative skills
  • Ability to support students in both direct and indirect service models, K-12 age range
  • School-based experience is strongly preferred, though not required

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to visually impaired students across multiple campuses
  • Perform evaluations and screenings; develop and implement individualized service plans
  • Provide consultative services to staff and families, including monthly visits as needed
  • Collaborate with team members to support student success and ensure compliance
  • Travel between assigned schools using district office as your base
