Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse (CVOR) for a well-known Bay Area healthcare organization in Palo Alto, California. This is a three-day-per-week (36 hours/week) opportunity for a highly skilled RN with strong cardiovascular operating room experience.

Compensation

$82.00 – $90.00 per hour
Hourly wage depends upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Position Overview

The Clinical Nurse (CN) is a Registered Nurse who provides hands-on, evidence-based patient care in accordance with the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, professional standards, and hospital policies.

This role is responsible for the full nursing process — assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of care — while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams and supporting patients and families throughout the surgical and recovery journey.

This position specifically supports CVOR services, circulating and scrubbing for complex procedures.


Specialty Focus: CVOR

  • Circulates and scrubs complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries
  • Responds to hospital-wide CV Codes and ECMO placements
  • Provides on-call support for Type A cases
  • Rapidly recognizes and responds to emergent situations, activating protocols as needed


What You’ll Do

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care across all phases of treatment
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and interpret clinical data
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition, adverse responses, and complications
  • Provide patient and family education tailored to learning needs, culture, and clinical condition
  • Promote a healing environment through emotional support and strong communication
  • Delegate appropriately, prioritize effectively, and integrate multiple clinical demands
  • Maintain patient and staff safety while ensuring compliance with standards and policies
  • Support team development through mentorship, teaching, and participation in shared governance
  • Utilize technology effectively for documentation, communication, and clinical research
  • Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and commitment to lifelong learning


'05; Required Qualifications

  • Active CA RN license
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification
  • Minimum 3+ years of CVOR experience (required)
  • Experience circulating and scrubbing complex cardiac cases
  • Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English


Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
