Desk Developer Newcastle Upon Tyne (5 days onsite) Salary: £40,000 - £120,000Were supporting a rapidly growing financial technology organisation as they continue to expand their engineering capability across capital markets and quantitative technology.They are looking for talented Desk Developers to join their Quantitative Analytics team, working closely with traders, quantitative analysts, risk professionals, and technologists to build software solutions that directly support front-office decision making.This is a unique opportunity for a strong software engineer to combine technical development with exposure to financial markets, building tools that have visible impact from day one.What youll be working on: Partnering directly with traders and quant teams to deliver reliable, high-performance front-office applicationsDesigning and building web applications that replace manual spreadsheet-based workflowsTranslating complex business requirements into scalable software solutionsOwning applications end-to-end, from requirements gathering and design through to deployment and ongoing improvementBuilding dashboards and application services supporting market data, risk, and portfolio informationImproving usability, performance, and reliability through strong engineering practicesWorking with architecture and platform teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and maintainableWhat theyre looking for: Strong software engineering experience, ideally within financial markets, front-office environments, or other high-performance technology environmentsStrong backend development skills using technologies such as: C#C++JavaSimilar modern programming languagesExperience building web applications and APIsStrong frontend development experience with: TypeScriptReactModern web frameworksStrong SQL and data modelling skillsExperience working across multiple data sources and building data-driven applicationsExcellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with traders, quants, and business stakeholdersExperience with market data, pricing, risk, positions, or P&L systems would be highly advantageous.Why join?
