Health & Safety ManagerLocation: Covering the Southeast England region to include: Bristol Oxford London Hertfordshire Kent & SurreySector: Construction / Education / Healthcare / Residential / RetailProject: Multiple Mid-Size Construction ProjectsOur client is a general main contractor delivering a portfolio of mid-size construction projects across the education, healthcare, residential and retail sectors throughout the South East of the UK. They are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support and oversee HSE compliance across multiple live sites.The role involves travelling between projects on a structured weekly basis, typically spending time on-site each day across a rotating portfolio of sites ranging from Bristol in the west through to London, Oxford, Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey. Due to the geographic spread of projects, daily travel is required and candidates must be comfortable working in a mobile role with full driving capability.You will be responsible for monitoring, auditing and improving health and safety standards across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with legislation, company procedures and client requirements. Working closely with site teams and project management, you will play a key role in maintaining consistent HSE performance across all active projects.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee health, safety and environmental compliance across multiple live construction sitesConduct regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviewsMonitor adherence to RAMS, statutory requirements and company HSE proceduresSupport site teams with safety guidance, best practice and corrective actionsInvestigate incidents, near misses and implement preventative measuresDeliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inductions where requiredMaintain accurate HSE reporting, documentation and audit trailsEnsure consistent application of HSE standards across all project locationsLiaise with site managers, project teams and subcontractors on safety performanceSupport continuous improvement of company-wide HSE systems and cultureRequirementsProven Health & Safety Manager or Advisor experience within main contractingBackground working across education, healthcare, residential or retail construction projectsStrong understanding of UK HSE legislation, compliance and site safety systemsExperience conducting audits and managing multi-site safety responsibilitiesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsNEBOSH qualification (or equivalent HSE certification) essentialFull UK driving licence and own vehicle requiredWillingness to travel daily across multiple project locationsPackage6-month contract (potential for extension)Competitive day rate / contract termsMileage and travel supportOpportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of live construction projects in the South East of the UKTPBN1_UKTJ
