Import Customs SupervisorLocation: Northampton (with hybrid working available after probation)Hours: 12:00 - 21:00 (PM shift) Monday to Friday (Occasional weekends)Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 Per AnnumOur client is a global logistics and supply chain management company, integrating road, air and sea transport services. They have an exciting opportunity for an Import Customs Supervisor to join the team on a full time, permanent basis!The successful candidate will oversee and support the import customs operation during the PM shift and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, compliant and timely processing of import customs entries, while leading and supporting a small operational team.This is an excellent opportunity for a strong supervisor with people management experience to step into a role where full customs training will be provided.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise the daily import customs workflow during the PM shiftEnsure all import declarations are processed accurately and within required timeframesMonitor workload distribution and prioritise urgent shipmentsSupport and develop team members through coaching and on-the-job guidanceAct as the escalation point for import-related queries and issuesLiaise with internal departments and external stakeholders (e.g. carriers, brokers, HMRC processes)Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company procedures (training provided)Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with audit requirementsSupport continuous improvement of import processes and efficiencyAbout YouPrevious supervisory or team leadership experience is essentialExperience working within a logistics/transport environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsConfident decision-maker with the ability to manage priorities under pressureHighly organised with attention to detailComfortable working in a fast-paced operational environmentCustoms experience is beneficial but not essential (training provided)Please apply online in the first instance, send your CV to or call Barker Ross Lincoln on 01522 551910 today!Barker Ross Group values diversity and promotes equality.
