\nReporting Manager Title: President, Major Projects and Portfolios
About us\nWorley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value across the life of their assets. We specialise in consulting, engineering, procurement and construction across the project lifecycle, with services extending through to operations and decommissioning. Leveraging extensive experience and AI‑enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today’s needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.
Role Overview\nThe Senior Project Director – Major Projects and Portfolios (MPP) will report to the President of Major Projects and Portfolios (MPP) for the EMEA region and is accountable for the successful execution of one of the largest and most complex energy infrastructure projects in the world.
\nThis role requires exceptional leadership, communication and problem‑solving capabilities to direct subject matter experts and multi‑disciplinary teams operating across multiple locations. The Vice President, Project Management will drive efficient, safe and high‑quality project delivery while maintaining alignment with programme objectives.
\nThe project’s execution strategy, contracting framework and overall schedule are largely established. In addition, Worley is a mature EPCM delivery organisation with well‑developed systems, tools and processes. The successful candidate must be comfortable entering an in‑flight project environment, adopting established delivery frameworks and operating effectively within the “Worley Way,” rather than building systems from first principles.
\nWe are seeking a highly energized and motivated leader who embraces this challenge and can quickly establish credibility, build alignment and drive performance across all facets of project execution. Collaboration and the ability to motivate high‑performing teams will be critical to success. Worley fosters a culture grounded in partnership and shared success—embodied in a “we win together” mindset—and the Vice President, Project Management is expected to actively model and reinforce this culture.
Scope and Accountabilities of the Role\nThe Senior Project Director – MPP is accountable for the overall leadership, strategic direction and successful delivery of the MPP Project.
\nThis role provides full lifecycle oversight across engineering, procurement, construction management and stakeholder engagement, ensuring the project is executed safely, on schedule, within budget and in alignment with customer, partner and regulatory expectations.
\nThe Senior Project Director – MPP serves as the primary interface with the client and key stakeholders, establishing trusted relationships while ensuring transparent communication and alignment on project objectives, risks and performance.
\nLeveraging Worley’s established EPCM delivery model and global integrated delivery capabilities, the role is responsible for driving execution excellence, embedding best practices and delivering consistent, high‑quality outcomes across all phases of the project.
Safety & Leadership\n- \n
- Champion a strong safety culture, driving consistent behaviours aligned with Worley’s safety standards and zero‑incident mindset. \n
- Provide visible, proactive leadership across all aspects of health, safety and environmental (HSE), performance, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and company expectations. \n
- \n
- Lead and ensure execution of fully integrated project plans across all phases of the MPP Project. \n
- Drive strict adherence to Worley’s EPCM delivery model and established project governance frameworks. \n
- Effectively lead and integrate multi‑disciplinary teams across multiple locations and delivery functions—including engineering, procurement and construction management—to achieve efficient, high‑quality project execution. \n
- Maximise the utilisation and value of Worley’s Global Integrated Delivery Centres to enhance execution efficiency and consistency. \n
- Ensure delivery against key project objectives, including scope, schedule, cost, quality and overall performance metrics. \n
- Proactively identify, assess and manage risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies to sustain project performance. \n
- Ensure all decisions and actions are aligned with the best interests of the project, the customer and Worley. \n
- \n
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, cultivating strong, transparent and trusted relationships. \n
- Provide consistent, accurate and timely reporting on project status, risks, opportunities and performance metrics. \n
- Manage complex stakeholder environments, including clients, regulators, contractors and local communities, ensuring alignment and proactive issue resolution. \n
- Maintain full accountability for project financial performance including budget management, forecasting and cost control. \n
- Drive commercial strategies that protect and enhance project value. \n
- Oversee all aspects of contract management, including claims, variations and change management processes, ensuring alignment with project objectives and risk mitigation. \n
- \n
- Oversee all internal and external project interfaces, ensuring alignment across functions, workstreams and stakeholders. \n
- Drive seamless integration across project workstreams to enable coordinated execution. \n
The successful candidate will be a highly respected project leader with a demonstrated ability to deliver mega‑projects in complex, remote and challenging environments. They will bring a balanced combination of technical depth and commercial acumen, coupled with exceptional leadership and stakeholder management capabilities. The successful candidates will also bring a proven track record of performance in a senior leadership capacity (Project Director or equivalent) on large‑scale, complex infrastructure projects (>$5 B Total Installed Cost), with demonstrated success delivering projects in alignment with established schedules and budgets.
\nIn addition, the individual will possess the following experience and qualifications:
\n- \n
- Strong demonstrable track record in full project lifecycle (FEL, EPC & EPCM). \n
- Experience delivering projects in the EMEA region is highly preferred. \n
- Deep technical understanding of engineering, construction and commissioning practices. \n
- Strong commercial acumen, with proven experience managing large‑scale project budgets, contracts and financial performance. \n
- Experience leading large, integrated project organisations, including home office teams and site‑based workforces. \n
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate globally dispersed, multi‑disciplinary project teams. \n
- Extensive subcontract and contractor management experience within complex execution models. \n
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence and guide client decision‑making at a senior level. \n
