This is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing network architectures that underpin essential public services.This role offers flexible working alongside visits to regional offices and project sites across the UK.The OpportunityAs a Network Architect , you will take ownership of the design and delivery of complex telecommunications and network solutions, supporting operational systems including:Secure LAN/WAN network infrastructureSCADA and control system networksCCTV and surveillance systemsVoice and communications platformsPassenger information and operational technology systemsCyber security and network protection solutionsBackbone communications and transmission networksYou'll work closely with customers, delivery partners, project teams, systems engineers and technical stakeholders, translating business and operational requirements into innovative, secure and scalable network architectures.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced network professional who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing, implementation and commissioning.Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Design & ArchitectureLead the design and development of complex network architectures and telecommunications solutionsDeliver technical designs that meet performance, security, quality and safety requirementsProduce and review: Network architecture documentationHigh- and low-level designsNetwork diagramsIP addressing and subnetting strategiesSecurity architecture designsCable schedules and diversity plansTechnical configurationsTechnical ExpertiseEnsure designs align with customer requirements, industry standards and operational needsDevelop secure and resilient network solutions for critical infrastructure environmentsProduce system requirements, specifications and technical proposalsPresent and explain architectural designs to customers and project stakeholdersProject DeliverySupport projects throughout the full systems engineering lifecycleProduce and review test specificationsSupport integration, testing, commissioning and operational deployment activitiesCollaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomesStakeholder EngagementBuild strong relationships with customers, suppliers and delivery partnersAct as a trusted technical authority for network and communications solutionsWork closely with engineering, project and innovation teams to influence technical strategy and delivery approachesWhat We're Looking ForEssential Skills & ExperienceDegree qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise and operational technology network solutionsStrong expertise in: LAN/WAN network designNetwork security architectureRouting and switching technologiesCritical infrastructure or safety-related environmentsDemonstrable knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycleExperience working within quality and safety-driven industriesExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to deliver high-quality solutions within demanding project timescalesCisco certification at CCNP level or above , or equivalent practical expertiseDesirable ExperienceExperience in one or more of the following areas would be highly advantageous:Software Defined Networking (SDN)Network automationVirtualisation technologiesData centre networkingNext-generation firewallsSIEM and cyber security platformsThreat intelligence solutionsIdentity and Access Management (IAM)Operational technology and industrial control systemsExperience working within rail, transportation, utilities, defence or other critical infrastructure sectors would be particularly beneficial.Professional accreditations such as Chartered Engineer status or relevant industry licences are welcomed.Rullion supports applications from a diverse talent pool.
