MIG Welder / FabricatorMonday – Friday 8AM - 5PM | 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Salary £35,000 per annum Our client, a well-established and respected engineering business, is seeking an experienced Mild Steel MIG Welder / Fabricator to join their team on an 18-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to work on a variety of interesting projects within a supportive and fast-paced workshop environment. The successful candidate will be a hands-on fabricator with a strong eye for detail, a commitment to high-quality workmanship, and the ability to thrive as part of a close-knit team.Key Responsibilities:\n

\n
• Carry out high-quality MIG welding and fabrication of mild steel components
\n
• Read and interpret technical drawings, including CAD and Inventor designs
\n
• Safely operate a range of workshop machinery and tools, including pillar drills, mag drills, bandsaws, angle grinders, ironworkers, and guillotines
\n
• Accurately measure, cut, and assemble materials in line with specifications
\n
• Perform quality checks to ensure all work meets required standards
\n
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
\n
• Support general workshop upkeep and housekeeping
\n
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to meet production deadlines
\n
• Assist with assembly tasks, including bolting and painting
\n
• Load and unload steelwork for deliveries to and from the yard
\n

Requirements:\n

\n
• Proven experience in MIG welding and mild steel fabrication
\n
• Ability to confidently read and interpret CAD and Inventor drawings
\n
• Strong competence in using workshop tools and machinery
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
\n
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
\n
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
\n

Desirable:\n

\n
• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Welding, Fabrication, or a related field
\n
