The role sits within the Mechanical Engineering Hub in Asset Management, giving you the opportunity to work across a number of exciting programmes and services, such as Type 45, Minehunters, Queen Elizabeth Class Carriers, Type 23s & Offshore Patrol Vessels, International Naval Programmes and the Material State Management Service. Being in the Asset Management business, the role opens up further opportunities of working on exciting future developments that align with our customer's direction and strategy.Core duties:Providing mechanical engineering support across diverse platform systems, equipment, and critical marine servicesDelivering engineering input to multiple projects, including CSM platforms and international naval programmesWorking with internal teams and external stakeholders to clarify and manage platform system requirementsMaintaining systems design integrity across varied engineering contexts, classes, and programme deploymentsSupporting investigations, impact assessments and integration analyses to enable evidence-based and data-driven technical decisionsEnsuring safe, efficient implementation of design changes while maintaining configuration control and system integrationEssential skills:You hold broad knowledge of complex platform systems across UK and international marketsYou will have a good understanding of applicable industry standards and the ability to operate effectively within CSM, LCM, and other governance and assurance frameworksYou will have the ability to apply mechanical engineering knowledge quickly and confidently to a wide range of platform and projects across multiple platform systems and sub-systems and equipment'sYou will have evidence of formal mechanical engineering qualificationsThe Asset Management team:This role sits within the Warship Technical Authority (WTA) Service Hub, part of the Asset Management team within Warship Support, delivering whole ship, systems and equipment engineering expertise and change management to ensure safe, assured and high-quality support across Warship Support programmes.
