\nAs part of our team at Haymarket Depot, you’ll work alongside the Depot Operator Team Leader and your colleagues to keep ScotRail trains running safely and reliably.\n
\n
\nAs a key member of the depot team, you will be responsible for rail vehicle movement, driving and shunting, as well as the servicing and repair of diesel multiple units, all carried out in line with our safety and quality procedures and SOM 105. As part of this role, you will also carry out yard-coordinator duties, taking charge of coordinating all vehicle movements within the depot.\n

\n* Experience of working in an engineering environment.\n
\n
\n* Willingness to learn shunting and driving procedures.\n
\n
\nDesirable:\n
\n
\n* Formal engineering or shunting qualifications.\n
\n
\n* Ability to drive a road motor vehicle.\n
\n

\nHours of work: Average 35-hour week. This post operates on a rotating three-shift cycle, covering day, back and nightshifts with weekend working being compulsory.\n

\nReference Salary: £50,907 per annum on completion of training, training salary £49,294 per annum.\n

\nSelection Process\n
\n
\nShortlisted candidates will be invited to complete safety critical/driver assessment. Successful candidates will then be invited to attend a competency-based interview. All offers are subject to passing our pre-employment checks which include a criminal record check, medical and referencing.\n

\nMedical Fitness: Due to the nature of the post and rail industry safety requirements there are certain medical & fitness standards that you would require to meet.\n
