Job Description
Harper May is working with a founder-led technology business delivering SaaS solutions to mid-market enterprise clients across Europe. The company has reached £8m ARR and is backed by established angel investors and early-stage venture capital. Revenue growth is consistent, the product roadmap is strong, and the business is now at a point where financial rigour and strategic planning will unlock the next phase of expansion. They are seeking a Finance Director to build and lead financial operations across the organisation.
The Role\nReporting to the CEO, you will take full ownership of financial management, reporting, and planning. This is a hands‑on role that combines strategic oversight with day‑to‑day leadership of the finance function. You will work closely with the leadership team on commercial planning, investor relations, and capital allocation to support sustainable growth.

- Build and lead the finance team; establish processes and controls to support a scaling business \n
- Own annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and cash flow projections \n
- Prepare management accounts, statutory accounts, and investor reporting \n
- Partner with the CEO and commercial leads on pricing, unit economics, and go‑to‑market decisions \n
- Lead capital planning and manage relationships with existing investors and lenders \n
- Ensure financial governance, compliance with accounting standards, and audit readiness \n
- Drive financial insight into product and customer profitability to inform strategy \n

- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with at least 8 years in finance roles \n
- Proven experience as Finance Director or equivalent in a scaling SaaS or technology business \n
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and comfort with financial reporting and audit \n
- Commercial mindset with experience in investor-backed environments \n
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders and board-level audiences \n
- Collaborative leadership style with appetite for hands‑on involvement in a smaller team \n
