Job Description
Morson is collaborating with the UK’s leading defence manufacturer to recruit a Supplier Quality Professional to join their team at the Glascoed site.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct technical reviews to ensure customer requirements are clearly defined and effectively communicated throughout the supply chain. \n
- Evaluate supplier capability and capacity to meet contractual obligations. \n
- Support the procurement team by analysing supply chain options, identifying capability gaps, and facilitating the onboarding of new suppliers. \n
- Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools and methodologies in supplier-related change projects, including Process Control Planning and PFMEA. \n
- Review and assess supplier First Article Inspection Reports. \n
- Coach the supply chain on relevant tools and techniques such as APQP to aid supplier development and promote the sharing of best practises. \n
- Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives by enhancing throughput and minimising waste. \n
- Assist with first, second, and third-party audits of the Procurement Function and Supply Chain as required. \n
- Promote and maintain safe working practises in all supplier interactions. \n
- \n
- At least five years’ experience in engineering, production, or quality-related roles. \n
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes. \n
- Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO, AS, and AQAP. \n
- Understanding of Defence Standards. \n
- Expertise in Supply Chain Management. \n
- Proficient in APQP principles (essential). \n
- Awareness of safety standards and regulations. \n

- Lead Auditor certification (desirable). \n
- Practical experience applying APQP tools (essential). \n
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation (essential). \n
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills. \n
- Ability to manage workload independently. \n
- Experience with improvement and recovery programmes. \n

- Lead Auditor certification (desirable). \n
- Proven application of APQP tools (essential). \n
- Competence in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation (essential). \n
- Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively across functions. \n
- Proven ability to manage workload autonomously. \n
- Experience in improvement and recovery programmes. \n
