About our company
Camira are a multi-award-winning textile manufacturer with two centuries of heritage and a forward-thinking approach to innovation and sustainability, Camira designs and manufactures environmental fabrics for the commercial, public transport and residential sectors.
Purpose of the role
To prepare the looms to the correct specifications prior to weaving, ensuring the highest quality woven fabrics are produced in line with preplanned schedules so lead times and customer demands are met.
The day to day
\nTo adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements.
\nFollow production plans and ensure the correct sequence of warps are tied into the correct looms to satisfy production priorities.
\nDeliver right first time quality by ensuring the warps tied into the loom are correct to product specification.
\nIdentify, respond to and rectify material and equipment issues in a timely manner; report defects to the Weaving Team Leader or Quality Assurance team.
\nMaintain equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines to optimise production and quality.
\nAssist technical tuners with loom style changes to minimise loom downtime and help ensure lead times are met.
\nOther Considerations
\nExperience of woven textiles, warp plans and patterns, knotting machines, frameworks, weaving machines and knotting methods.
\nCapable of warp tying, removing and replacing warp beams, supporting weaving machine set-ups and recognising and rectifying material fault types.
\nExcellent health and safety awareness, including the ability to complete manual handling tasks such as bending, stretching and lifting up to 25kg.
\nWorking hours: 10pm to 6am, Monday to Friday. (This is a night shift)
\nWorks well in a busy, fast-paced environment as a team player who can also use their own initiative.
\nFlexible, self-motivated and able to work with strong attention to detail.
\nTraining includes H&S, HR, IT awareness, Equality & Diversity, DSE and Camira induction, plus machine familiarisation, IT systems and machine and department safety.
