Senior Construction Manager
Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD
London, ENG, GB
Full Time
Job Description
This is a chance to lead site delivery on the kind of projects most Construction Managers never get near. Defence facilities, government estates and other secure environments across London and the Home Counties, delivered by a growing main contractor that has built its reputation on complex, high-compliance work.Established in 2018, the business has grown to around 30 permanent staff and works on schemes typically between £4 million and £10 million. Projects cover secure fit-outs, refurbishments and bespoke builds, all delivered to standards that would floor most contractors. This is technical, trust-driven construction with a genuine sense of purpose behind it.Reporting directly to the Project Director, the Senior Construction Manager takes the lead on site delivery, backed by a strong central team and given the autonomy to run projects properly. If you have led sites in secure or defence environments and want to work somewhere the work actually matters, this is worth a look.Senior Construction Manager Salary & BenefitsSalary: £60,000 to £75,000 (DOE)£5,000 Car Allowance10% Balanced Score Card Bonus with Out-Performance KickerWPA Health Cover (following probation)Death in Service Benefit from Day 1Statutory PensionFinancial Advisor SupportSponsorship for Professional Qualifications and TrainingEV Car Scheme and Cycle to Work SchemeEmployee Referral Scheme22 Days Holiday Plus Bank Holidays5 Hour Working Week (Monday to Friday)Travel Expenses CoveredCharity Contribution SchemeSenior Construction Manager Job OverviewSupport the Project Manager to plan, schedule and oversee all phases of construction projectsEnsure projects are delivered on time, within scope and to budgetManage risk, quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycleLead site teams including subcontractors and direct labourEnforce site safety, security protocols and environmental standardsMaintain daily site logs and progress reportsLiaise with clients, architects, engineers and local authoritiesEnsure all permits, licences and security protocols are adhered toCommunicate effectively with secure facility management and security personnelManage budgets, cost estimates and procurement plans in consultation with the procurement teamOrder materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and complianceEnsure adherence to project scope, health and safety regulations and secure environment protocolsMaintain accurate records including risk assessments, method statements and handover documentationSenior Construction Manager RequirementsProven experience as a Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager, ideally within defence, secure or high-risk environmentsTrades background consideredSolid understanding of construction processes, sequencing and delivery risksStrong knowledge of construction methods, health and safety and project managementDegree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field is desirableProficiency in SharePoint and business systemsCSCS Black Card or equivalentSMSTS CertificationEligible for or currently holding UK Security Clearance (SC or DV)Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skillsFull UK driving licence with willingness to commute to sites across London and the Home CountiesWhat Makes This Opportunity Different?Deliver nationally critical projects in a genuine niche, not another volume main contractorA mature, professional culture built on trust, integrity and doing things properly10% Balanced Score Card bonus with an out-performance kicker rewards strong deliverySponsorship for professional qualifications and long-term career development supportedA business with a strong social conscience, contributing 10% of profits to community and professional development initiativesBennett & Game Recruitment are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy.Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries. We are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy, and in accordance with GDPR by applying you are granting us consent to process your data, contact you about the services we offer, and submit your CV for the role you have applied for.TPBN1_UKTJ
