Salary:£33,000 - £38,000 FTE (Pro Rata), depending on experience

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday)

Senior Payroll Opportunity | Standalone Role | Multi-Entity Business\n

An established and growing retail, e-commerce and logistics group is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to take ownership of its payroll function.

\n

This is a genuinely senior, hands-on position where you'll manage the complete payroll process across multiple legal entities while acting as the business's payroll expert. You'll also play a key role in the implementation of a new payroll and HR system, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes as well as delivering an accurate payroll.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Manage end-to-end weekly and monthly payrolls across multiple group entities.
  • \n
  • Process starters, leavers, salary changes, statutory payments and final salary calculations.
  • \n
  • Ensure accurate and timely RTI submissions (FPS/EPS) and compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • \n
  • Administer workplace pensions, including auto-enrolment, salary sacrifice and provider submissions.
  • \n
  • Manage payroll year-end activities, including P60s, tax code changes and HMRC correspondence.
  • \n
  • Support the implementation of a new payroll system, including data validation, testing and process improvements.
  • \n
  • Develop and maintain payroll procedures, controls and audit trails.
  • \n
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll queries.
  • \n
  • Work closely with Finance and HR to ensure payroll data is accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
  • \n
  • Assist with payroll journals, reconciliations and statutory reporting.
  • \n
About You\n

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

    \n
  • Significant experience managing end-to-end UK payroll.
  • \n
  • Experience working across multiple payrolls or legal entities.
  • \n
  • Excellent knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, RTI, statutory payments and payroll legislation.
  • \n
  • Experience administering workplace pension schemes and salary sacrifice arrangements.
  • \n
  • The confidence to work independently and identify potential compliance issues before they arise.
  • \n
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • \n

Desirable:

    \n
  • CIPP qualification (or qualified by experience).
  • \n
  • Experience using Sage 50 Payroll and/or Paycircle.
  • \n
  • Previous involvement in a payroll implementation or system migration.
  • \n
  • Experience integrating payroll with HR or time and attendance systems.
  • \n
