Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a busy and fast-paced payroll team. This role is responsible for delivering accurate payroll services, ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, and supporting both internal stakeholders and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
  • \n
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including starters, leavers, tax codes and statutory deductions.
  • \n
  • Handle payroll queries and resolve pay-related issues.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, pension requirements and payroll legislation.
  • \n
  • Process invoicing, payroll adjustments and reconciliations.
  • \n
  • Administer pension enrolments and submissions.
  • \n
  • Complete year-end payroll activities, CIS returns and statutory reporting.
  • \n
  • Conduct payroll compliance checks and support audit requirements.
  • \n
  • Produce and reconcile financial reports, statements and customer account balances.
  • \n
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies across payroll and finance systems.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to process improvements.
  • \n

About You

  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and statutory reporting.
  • \n
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • \n
  • Confident using payroll and finance systems, with strong IT skills.
  • \n
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
  • \n
  • Proactive problem-solver with a strong customer-service focus.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
