HGV Class 1 Driver – Manchester (Newton Heath)People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Manchester (Newton Heath) .This is an excellent temporary to permanent opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent ongoing work, regular overtime, and the chance to join a professional transport team within a busy distribution operation.Newly qualified HGV Class 1 Drivers are welcome to apply.This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, CE Driver, C+E Driver, HGV Driver, Trunk Driver, RDC Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.Shift Pattern• 4 on 4 off rota• Start times between 13:00 – 17:00• Overtime availableRates of Pay• £19.94 per hourBenefitsAs an HGV Class 1 Driver , you will receive:• Excellent hourly rate• Weekly pay• Genuine temporary to permanent opportunity• Ongoing work with consistent shifts• Overtime available• Free on-site parking• On-site canteen and vending facilities• Ongoing training and support• Immediate starts availableDay-to-Day DutiesAs an HGV Class 1 Driver , your duties will include (but are not limited to):• Operating Category CE (HGV Class 1) vehicles safely and efficiently• Delivering food products to Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs)• Ensuring all loads are safely secured before departure• Completing pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections and reporting defects promptly• Completing deliveries professionally while maintaining excellent customer service• Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or operational issues• Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation• Completing delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately• Maintaining high standards of professionalism and vehicle care throughout each shiftEssential SkillsTo be successful in this role, you will need:• A valid UK Category CE (HGV Class 1) Driving Licence• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card• A valid Digital Tachograph Card• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no IN10, DR10, or DD10 endorsements)• Good communication and customer service skills• A reliable, professional, and safety-conscious approach to workDesirable Experience• Newly qualified HGV Class 1 Drivers are welcome to apply• Previous experience completing RDC, trunking, or food distribution deliveries would be advantageousTraining Provided• Full site paid induction and driver briefing• Ongoing support from the transport and recruitment teams• Industry-related training throughout your assignmentApplyIf you are interested in this role, please apply today and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch.People Solutions do not charge candidates any fees or request deposits at any stage of the recruitment process.TPBN1_UKTJ
