ASD Year 2 Teacher (ARP) Southwark Immediate Start This welcoming primary school in the London Borough of Southwark is seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 2 ASD Teacher to join its specialist Autism Resource Provision (ARP) on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. The ARP supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who benefit from a structured, low-arousal environment while remaining closely integrated with mainstream school life where appropriate. ASD Year 2 Teacher What the School Offers A well-established Autism Resource Provision with excellent specialist facilities Small class sizes with dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants supporting every lesson Ongoing CPD in Autism education, communication strategies and sensory-informed practice Close collaboration with Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Educational Psychologists Full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity with excellent long-term progression ASD Year 2 Teacher What the Role Involves As the ASD Year 2 Teacher, you'll deliver a highly personalised Key Stage 1 curriculum tailored to pupils with Autism and associated communication needs. You'll adapt teaching to meet individual EHCP outcomes, promote communication and independence, and create a calm, predictable learning environment where pupils feel safe to learn and succeed. Working closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and families, you'll ensure every child receives consistent, high-quality support both academically and socially. ASD Year 2 Teacher What the School is Looking For The ideal ASD Year 2 Teacher will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching within Key Stage 1. Previous experience supporting pupils with Autism or working within a Resource Provision, specialist SEND school or inclusive mainstream setting would be highly advantageous, although exceptional mainstream teachers with a genuine interest in SEND are encouraged to apply. The school is looking for a patient, reflective and nurturing practitioner who believes every child can thrive with the right support.
