About the Opportunity

An established and growing independent accountancy practice is seeking a Qualified Accountant to join its supportive and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking for a long-term role where they can take ownership of client relationships, contribute to business growth, and enjoy flexible working arrangements.

The successful candidate will work closely with a varied portfolio of individuals and small business clients, providing high-quality compliance services alongside proactive business and tax advice.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.
\n
• Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
\n
• Preparing personal, partnership, and corporation tax returns.
\n
• Reviewing VAT returns and bookkeeping records.
\n
• Supporting clients with cloud accounting solutions, particularly Xero.
\n
• Providing proactive advice and identifying opportunities to add value for clients.
\n
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
\n
• Assisting with the development and mentoring of junior team members where appropriate.
\n

About You

You will be a motivated and client-focused accountant who enjoys working directly with clients and delivering excellent service.

Essential Requirements:

\n
• ACA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent qualification.
\n
• Minimum 3 years’ recent UK accountancy practice experience.
\n
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.
\n
• Proven ability to manage your own client portfolio.
\n
• Strong knowledge of Xero and cloud accounting software.
\n
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
\n
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
\n

Desirable:

\n
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff.
\n
• Track record of identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and add value.
\n
