Finance Assistant

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant to join a busy and growing finance team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong Accounts Receivable and sales ledger experience working at AAT Level 2 level, who is available to start immediately, with the potential for a permanent position.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
\n
• 9:00am – 5:00pm
\n
• 30-minute lunch break
\n
• Hybrid working available – 3 days in office and 2 days from home once trained
\n
• Free on-site parking
\n

The Role

Working closely with the Operational Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Managing the sales ledger, including raising and checking customer invoices
\n
• Processing and reconciling high volumes of customer invoices and remittances
\n
• Proactively managing credit control and chasing outstanding payments
\n
• Resolving customer invoice, payment and remittance queries
\n
• Reconciling high-volume, multi-currency bank accounts and payment gateways
\n
• Supporting the monthly payroll process
\n
• Assisting with monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
\n
• Providing general support across the finance team as required
\n

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

\n
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a finance or accounts position
\n
• Experience working in a high-volume transactional finance environment
\n
• Previous Accounts Receivable and sales ledger experience
\n
• Experience supporting payroll administration
\n
• Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel
\n
• Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
\n
• A proactive, confident and professional approach
\n
• Working knowledge of UK VAT (EU VAT knowledge is advantageous)
\n
• An interest in using AI and automation to improve finance processes
\n

Previous experience within an eCommerce business would be advantageous but is not essential.
