\nWe are looking for Fibre Field Technician who would like to help us reach our mission to earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service.
\nThis is a field based role covering Taunton / Bridgewater and surounding areas.
\nFull training will be provided.
Purpose of this role\nField based role facilitating the maintenance and incident response for events on the OFNL network.
Your key responsibilities are\nPerform routine maintenance of telecoms equipment deployed in our Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) network.
\nWorking for the OFNL wholesale/operational brand and providing support to our Network Operation Centre (NOC) and Field engineering teams.
\nThis position will also require participation in a call out rota to be first responders and carry initial fault diagnosis or maintenance work during out of hours periods including weekends and public holidays.
\nContribute to the successful delivery of OFNL services.
\nDay to day maintenance of OFNLs network equipment.
\nSite audits against network design standards and specifications.
\nWork safely at all times wearing relevant PPE that is supplied.
\nAct as an OFNL representative and provide escort for third party access as required.
\nProvide remote hands for NOC engineering teams.
\nProvide support to field engineers during 2-person activities.
\nCreate and maintain OFNL documentation as required.
\nAttend training courses and keep up to date with relevant technologies.
\nAlways conduct themselves professionally.
\nAbility to demonstrate an enthusiastic and energetic approach and a passion for customer service.
\nAbility to communicate both verbally and in writing and to form good relationships with staff at other levels within the business.
\nAbility to display initiative, make rational and appropriate decisions.
\nProficient in following BU-UK and OFNL procedures.
\nCapable of solving problems and overcoming obstacles.
\nAbility to achieve targets and assigned outcomes.
\nAbility to operate independently and as part of a team.
\nUnderstand and displays positive attitudes to work.
\nWilling to take on responsibilities, challenges and to learn.
\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work.
Experience/Knowledge\nPractical experience using hand held tools
Abilities/Skills\nSelf-motivated and enthusiastic.
Desirable\nCity & Guilds 3667-02.
\nNRSWA certificate.
\nSafety underground certificate SA002.
\nDuct survey certificate S6.
\nExperience in network maintenance task, GPON/FTTH technology or telecom environment.
\nUse of an OTDR tester and an ability to analyse results.
\nAble to adapt to changing work practices and environment.
Conditions of EmploymentYou are required to have your criminal records checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This is due to going into customers homes.\n\nYou will hold a driving licence.\n
\nYou will be required to participate in a standby rota.\n
