We’re looking for an inspiring and hands-on Vocational Manager to lead our workshop-based learning environments across Hebdon Road, Normanby and Berkley Business Centre. If you’re passionate about developing people, raising standards and making a lasting difference, we’d love to hear from you.This role acts as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, and as part of a team delivers on a rota to own safeguarding across education and skills. It has a minimum requirement of delivering teaching a minimum of one day per week. This ensures all levels understand and continue to develop their teaching practice together. Some of the experience/skills we need to consider you: \n

  • Hold a relevant L3 qualification (ONC or equivalent)
  • \n
  • Have relevant industrial experience for workshop based vocations – such as wet trades, motor vehicle, engineering, construction.
  • \n
  • Educated to degree level or can demonstrate relevant equivalent experience
  • \n
  • Teaching qualification or relevant equivalent qualification with teaching experience – ideally as QTS.
  • \n
  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience of managing or leading a delivery area within the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
  • \n
  • DSL Level 3 trained or willingness to undertake, with substantial experience of dealing with complex cases
  • \n
  • Demonstrable evidence of leadership and management development or skills
  • \n
  • Significant experience of delivering programmes to support those on EHC Plans
  • \n
  • An organised individual who can plan and monitor a varied workload
  • \n
  • Strong people skills which encourages others to work collaboratively
  • \n
  • Strong literacy skills with the ability to write clearly and effectively
  • \n
  • A flexible approach to work and the ability to meet challenges and adapt to change
  • \n
  • Ability to deal with challenging behaviour at times
  • \n
  • Being self-motivated, resilient, with a drive and determination to achieve results
  • \n
  • General awareness of health and safety and building management
  • \n
  • Strong IT skills,across multiple platforms,with an indepth knowledge of office tools,with an eye for detail that’s second to none.
  • \n
  • Strong communicator with excellent customer service experience and skills
  • \n
  • Ability to work as a team, under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • \n
  • A good understanding of the barriers faced by people, and the solutions that may be able to benefit them
  • \n

  • Be able to develop and implement a strategic plan

  • Capable of developing systems to improve the operational elements of the Workshops
  • \n
  • Have enough understanding of the wide variety of curriculum areas to ensure that all areas are developed equally.

  • Qualified IQA Level 4, or working towards
  • \n
  • QualifiedAssessorfor example Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or willingness to undertake
  • \n
  • MHFA
  • \n
  • Working with awarding bodies to develop qualifications to meet learner needs
  • \n
  • IOSHH or equivalent qualification and experience in management of health and safety and site based delivery.
