Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–5:30pm | Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

\n

Right to Work: Full UK right to work required

The Opportunity

\n

\n

We are supporting a successful and growing organisation in the appointment of an experienced Estimator to join its expanding commercial team.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional with experience in construction, civil engineering, manufacturing or a related technical environment to work across a diverse range of commercial projects.

\n

You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, reviewing project requirements, supporting commercial decision-making and working closely with suppliers, customers and internal teams to help deliver projects efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project enquiries, drawings and specifications to determine scope and requirements.
  • \n
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations.
  • \n
  • Interpret technical drawings, schedules and specifications.
  • \n
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, pricing and lead times.
  • \n
  • Identify cost-saving and commercial opportunities.
  • \n
  • Carry out Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and monitor project profitability.
  • \n
  • Support contract reviews, procurement and supplier negotiations.
  • \n
  • Work closely with Sales, Design, Operations and Logistics teams.
  • \n
  • Triage incoming enquiries and support effective project handovers.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate estimating and project records across CRM and business systems.
  • \n
  • Ensure work is completed in line with company procedures, quality standards and ISO requirements.

About You

\n

You will be an organised and commercially aware professional with excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and numerical skills.

\n

Ideally, you will have experience in an estimating, commercial or project-based environment and be confident interpreting technical drawings, specifications and project information.

\n

Experience in the following would be advantageous:

  • Estimating within construction, civil engineering or manufacturing.
  • \n
  • Construction materials, hard landscaping or a related sector.
  • \n
  • Cost estimates and commercial quotations.
  • \n
  • CAD and technical drawings.
  • \n
  • CVR and contract administration.
  • \n
  • International supply chains and overseas manufacturers.
  • \n
