Shift CoordinatorLocation: Kings NortonSalary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annumHours: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm (Afternoon Shift)Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Shift Coordinator to join their production team in Kings Norton. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated supervisor or team leader to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality, teamwork and continuous improvement are at the heart of the operation.As Shift Coordinator, you will support the Shift Controller with the day-to-day running of the production department, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer requirements are consistently achieved. You will lead and motivate a team of production operatives while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.Key Responsibilities-Support the Shift Controller with the daily management of production operations.-Lead, motivate and supervise production operatives to achieve production and quality targets.-Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times.-Allocate labour and resources effectively to meet production plans and customer demand.-Deliver shift briefings and communicate production priorities to the team.-Monitor operator performance, providing coaching, training and support where required.-Ensure production processes and work instructions are followed correctly.-Troubleshoot production issues and escalate maintenance concerns to minimise downtime.-Work closely with colleagues across shifts to ensure effective communication and smooth handovers.-Investigate quality concerns and support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.-Assist with employee training, performance reviews and development.-Provide cover for the Shift Controller during periods of absence.The successful candidate will have:-Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.-Ideally a minimum of three years' manufacturing experience, with paint, automotive or similar production experience advantageous.-Strong leadership and people management skills.-Excellent communication and organisational abilities.-A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.-The ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.-GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).-A full UK driving licence.
