Our client is a highly regarded Thames Valley law firm with an outstanding reputation for commercial dispute resolution. Due to continued growth, the firm is looking to appoint a Commercial Litigation Solicitor (5+ PQE) to join its successful Reading office.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-quality, complex commercial and commercial property disputes for a diverse client base while enjoying genuine career progression within a supportive and collaborative team.

The Role

You'll advise businesses, developers, landlords, tenants, company directors and shareholders on a broad range of commercial and commercial property disputes. Managing your own caseload while working closely with experienced partners on larger, more complex matters, you'll provide strategic, commercially focused advice from instruction through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of commercial and commercial property disputes
\n
• Advising on contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, partnership disputes and business ownership disputes
\n
• Handling commercial property litigation matters including landlord and tenant disputes, lease renewals, lease breaches, dilapidations, forfeiture, possession claims, easements, restrictive covenants and rights of way
\n
• Advising on breaches of contract, director and shareholder disputes, contentious commercial agreements and business disputes
\n
• Representing clients through negotiation, mediation, arbitration and court proceedings where appropriate
\n
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, applications and settlement agreements
\n
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
\n
• Supporting business development initiatives and networking with clients and professional referrers
\n
• Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team where appropriate
\n

• Acts for SMEs, owner-managed businesses, national companies, developers, investors, landlords and tenants
\n
• Advises clients across a wide range of sectors including technology, manufacturing, construction, property and professional services
\n
• Works closely with the firm's Corporate, Commercial Property, Employment and Insolvency teams to provide seamless commercial advice
\n

The Ideal Candidate

You will be an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor who enjoys handling a broad range of commercial and commercial property disputes while building long-term client relationships.

You will have:

• 5+ years' PQE in Commercial Litigation, with experience in commercial property disputes
\n
• Strong technical knowledge across commercial dispute resolution
\n
• Experience managing a varied caseload with minimal supervision
\n
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
\n
• A pragmatic, commercially focused approach to dispute resolution
\n
• A genuine interest in business development and building client relationships
\n
