Senior Quantity Surveyor

A leading infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major highways programme across the North West.This is an excellent opportunity to join an established project team on a significant civil engineering project, taking responsibility for key commercial activities from project delivery through to final account.Working closely with the Commercial Manager and operational teams, you will play a pivotal role in managing project costs, maximising value recovery, administering NEC contracts, and ensuring strong commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the commercial performance of highways and civil engineering projectsProduce and maintain CVRs, forecasts, and commercial reportsAdminister subcontract accounts from procurement through to final accountManage compensation events, variations, and change control processesReview and administer NEC contractsPrepare and submit applications for paymentMonitor project cash flow and commercial performanceNegotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractorsIdentify and manage commercial risks and opportunitiesSupport project teams with contractual and commercial adviceEnsure accurate reporting and forecasting throughout project deliveryRequirementsPrevious experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within highways or civil engineeringStrong NEC contract knowledge and administration experienceExperience managing subcontractor accounts and change control processesProven ability to produce CVRs, forecasts, and commercial reportsStrong understanding of infrastructure project deliveryExcellent negotiation and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work autonomously within a project environmentIf you're an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in highways or major infrastructure projects and are looking for your next freelance assignment, we'd be keen to discuss this opportunity further.Apply today for a confidential conversation.Aldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
