Quantity Surveyor – Highways6-Month Contract Inside IR35 Hybrid (3 days Eastbourne / 2 days WFH)We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of highways projects for a leading engineering and infrastructure consultancy. This is an initial 6-month contract operating Inside IR35, with a hybrid working arrangement based in Eastbourne.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and manage NEC contracts, primarily Option A (Priced Contract with Activity Schedule).Manage subcontractor accounts throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement, commercial administration, and final account settlement.Support the procurement process, including preparing tender documentation, evaluating submissions, negotiating with contractors, and making recommendations for award.Manage contractual change, including the assessment and administration of compensation events and variations in accordance with NEC procedures.Monitor project costs, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring commercial performance is maintained.Prepare valuations, payment applications, and cost reports.Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.Work closely with project managers, engineers, and delivery teams to ensure commercial compliance and successful project delivery.Maintain accurate commercial records and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.Essential ExperienceProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on highways or civil engineering projects.Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, with demonstrable experience administering NEC Option A contracts.Experience managing subcontractors from procurement through to final account.Commercial experience covering contractor negotiation, procurement, contract administration, and change management.Experience assessing and managing compensation events under NEC contracts.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Ability to work independently within a collaborative project environment.Contract DetailsLocation: EastbourneWorking Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days from homeContract: Initial 6 monthsThis is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established infrastructure consultancy delivering key highways projects within a collaborative and experienced commercial team.IR35 Status: Inside IR35TPBN1_UKTJ
